As the title says - I'm feeling miserable
I had to rush my cat to the vets last Saturday and he is still with them.
Moses is only 6 years old and nearly died of heart and kidney failure due to a blocked urethra
He is the most loving and faithful cat I have ever had, comes for walks with myself and my dog, but he has now been labelled as agressive at the vets and has to be sedated every time they need to do any thing with him
I hope his agression is down to frustration at being confined, but I do know he is in pain as they have told me he is on pain killers, the worst part for me is not being able to see him and the worry of what effect all the drugs are having on him.
Sorry for the moan, but I just needed to get rid of some of my frustrtaion

Blackcat, I'm so sorry to hear that - but the main thing is - is he getting better?

I think I'd be agressive if I nearly died, was stuck in a little hospital cage, possibly in pain, and only got pulled out to have needles stuck in me... poor Moses. Can't the vets let you visit him? Bet he could do with a bit of TLC from you.

Hope he gets better soon, and can go home. I now how it drags you down when you've got a sick animal and can't help, just been there with Socks, and we're still not out of the woods yet.

Keeping my fingers crossed - for both of you. Xxxxx

Thanks, he is on the mend, but they need to take daily blood samples and flush his catheter, so he has to be sedated daily for the safety of the nurses.
I was half hoping he would be allowed home today, but they want to keep his catheter in for another day, so maybe tomorrow.
Have posted a photo of him below

He's a beautiful boy.
So sorry he's going through so much at the moment. I'd be grumpy too if I felt ill and was being prodded, poked and injected.
I hope he soon begins to feel well enough to come home and get all the TLC he needs for a full recovery.

Hope you get him home soon am sure you'll both be much happier then. He is probably just stressed from all the prodding poking and generally feeling ill.
He is a very handsome chap looks like a miniature panther :-)

Thanks every one for your kind thoughts and words - I know he is in the best place and is definately on the mend.
Razee - you have been through far more trauma than me with Socks, and as you said still have a long way to go for full recovery.
lupi lou - Moses is very much a miniature panther and from a kitten has had attitude, so I did warn the vets he would become a little fiesty if he didn't like what they were doing to him - a sign he is getting better in my eyes
All I can do is hope that when I ring tomorrow for my daily update that I get told I can collect him

I'm so sorry Sue. It's not surprising you're feeling miserable. And it's not surprising that Moses seems to have had a personality transplant. Just think about how babies are when they're ill. They can't tell you how they're feeling or where they hurt, they just know they feel horrible so they just cry....and that s what Moses is doing. And I agree with Nusnakesmum, it's better to have him feisty that lethargic and having given up.

I really hope he's able to come home soon.

Xxx

Yaaaay Moses is home
He has got to go back tomorrow for a check up and he has got anti-inflammatories and antibiotics that I have some how got to get him to take.
He has lost a little weight (not a bad thing as he was a little on the chunky side )
He is currently sat along side me having lots of cuddles and love
The down side is he needs a bath, he stinks of cat wee Glad you lot can't smell, my other two cats are not impressed and I'm not going to stress him out by trying to bath him.
I'm just pleased he is still alive and now back home - Thanks again everyone for your kind thoughts and words
