Gorgeous pick ups. You won't regret the Hoggie, they are such funny lively characters haha!
The boa is stunning. It amazes me how strong boas are, mine is only a tiddler but when he holds on he holds on! Oh, and they are crafty too.

He does "seem" crafty yes! I have to keep my eye on him. He poo'd last night and it looked nothing like what the corns produce! Shocked me a bit lol.

Thank you for the tip about the hoggy. The guy who sold him didn't mention that part and I didn't see it on the care sheet standing out any more than for the corn snakes, and none of my current snakes have needed help. So thank you for the tip and I'll set him up one today

You are welcome, glad I could be of help and not just telling you stuff you were well aware of lol. :)

Actually, I have been considering putting a damp hide in for our hoggy at all times, as there have been a few people *ahem* on the dark side *ahem* who recommend it. Although they tend to live in dry areas, one hoggy breeder in particular pointed out that when they burrow they reach much more humid substrate, so although it's best to keep the general habitat dry, a slightly damp hide should be provided for if they choose to use one. I'm not entirely decided on it yet, but I do know I read they should definitely have a damp hide when shedding (can't for the life of me think where though) as opposed to corns when we tend to only advise one if they have had previous problems.

We have tried our hoggie with a humid hide as a permanent addition to her viv. It did not go well. She liked it so much that she stayed in it and wouldn't come out unless we removed her from it our selves. Because of this she started to develop R.I. We removed the humid hide and she returned to her normal self. She now only has a humid hide when we see she is going blue.

I moved Damon from his RUB into a viv yesterday. So pleased I did because he appears to be *really* enjoying all the space. I don't have a lot of money so improvised with his climbing frame (rabbit hay rack) and his hide, but he really loves it all!

One contented little snakey
