Still got aaaaaaaaaaages to wait but should i use aspen or kitchen roll for my hoggie hatchie?
Aspen so he can burrow or Kitchen roll so i can find teeny hatchie poop?
hmmm or what about aspen in hides and kitchen roll for rest?

The poop will not be teeny and you will defo know its in there the smell is atomic! I would go for aspen. I have found too much cover in the foliage since freaks them out a little. Deep aspen 1-2 hides and a water bowl should do it x

Definitely not just kitchen roll - I use kitchen roll to line the base, with a thick layer (2 inches +) of lignocel over the top. Hogster sometimes uses his cold hide, but other times just buries under the substrate. You HAVE to have deep substrate - if only for the pleasure of watching him burrow about all day for a week solid when you first get him lol!

(I haven't noticed the poop smell as being that bad actually! )

Yep you want nice deep substrate, I did have Petal on kitchen roll the first couple of weeks just so I could see if her poo looked normal easier but it was great to get her o a proper substrate she could make a mess with.
As for the smell of the poo, I'm with Georgina. Petal is by far the stinkiest snake of my collection haha.
