How much weight do corn snakes usually lose due to laying? Kali has lost 10g from her normal weight (she bulked up a lot before laying). I really thought it would be a whole lot more. Especially as she had 22 eggs and is only little to start with! Does this mean she is likely to double clutch? She looks good, not thin at all. |

Lucky you, Luna has gone so skinny and is refusing food :/ Haven't actually weighed her yet, I'll let you know how much she's lost when I get round to it :p |

I'm not sure how comparable it is, but Silvi lost just over 100g from when she stopped eating to when she laid the slugs. Happened to weigh her a couple of days before she laid them, when I didn't realise she was carrying them, and then weighed her straight after....she'd lost 50g, so half of her total weight loss came with laying them .
Sorry Luna is still refusing food Silverwings. Have you tried offering her something smaller than she's used to? I did that with Silvi and she's eating fine. There are also some tips on how to encourage her to eat in the Guide to non-feeding snakes

Yeah, I'm offering pinkies, brained and super heated. She shows interest, then suddenly decides nope, don't want. Going to try her on some rat pups since the pinkies may be too small for her, although she's never had a problem gobbling them down as a treat before. |

Have you left them with her overnight? When my Phoebe laid she would only eat if I left the food on her hide and she ate it during the night. Normally she strike feeds in a seperate rub. I think the effort of laying is so tiring for them. |

I didn't leave it overnight, but it was with her for a few hours in the dark. She just sat on it :/ |
