I want one o.O They're adorable! Are they difficult to look after, or is their care much like other rodents? |

lol... they are easy to look after, pretty much the same as fancy mice except they dont smell much and I find they need a bit more protein... I give mine a mix of seed, mouse food and cat biscuits and sometimes some mealies, egg, chicken or veg which they love! Very fun to watch but not easy to handle or tame, they will take food from my hand, climb on my hands, but dont like being picked up and handled much. The spines are not as hard as hedgehogs :p I have two breeding colonies and this is actually four separate litters from four girls :p They usually have two babies in a litter. I find they dont bite except for mothers with very young babies (the first couple of days) and babies are born with fur and running! Eyes are open within an hour or so of birth :p Lookis like I have three girl bubbahs and five boys... I have two pairs of boys still available for new homes ... they have to be kept in pairs or groups :) |
