I'm looking for vivarium locks. Although I have a self built vivarium. I had added a picture below. The glass has an overlap of around 30cm so this may be a problem. Any help would be appreciated?

Is there a lock that can fit on the market?

you might be better off with a wedge rather than a lock, or a glass cabinet lock might be an option as they tend to be a bit longer than the viv locks

Just measured the lock on Kellog's viv and its approx 15cm long, so no use to you. I'd go with Lupi's suggestion of wedges. I guess the important thing is why you want them....if its to keep the snakes in, like with mine, then wedges should be enough, but if its to keep 'little people' from opening them then you'll need a proper lock.

I seem to remember someone had rigged a handmade lock....might have been Auld Baldy???

Lovely set-ups, by the way .

Sorry I can't help more.

Xxx

Is there any way you can trim the glass or is it toughened?

It is toughened. It was £10 in ikea. Was originally meant to be used as a shelf. Used it as it would be cheap to replace.

Auld Baldy to the rescue.

The patented AB Sucker Wedge Viv Lock.Fitted to the bottom of the overlap and in the bottom runner track then the hook swiveled around. It Wedges, it sticks and it snibs into position. Triple function security for any size of viv or snake. Even big Vambo and hormonal Kings & Corns can't get past it. It should also stop little fingers as you normally need to use a finger nail to pop the sucker.

All the features and cheap as dirt, I found a pack of 25 in a pound shop.
Order yours now. Only £5 each or 2 for a tenner. Bargain as that includes FREE P&P.

(It's actually just a kitchen cup/ towel hook but I have snakes and spideys and crickets to feed. )
Any sucker including the thermometer probe ones will do the trick.

Hi Auld,

Do you think your masterpiece would work on the glass on my vivarium. It's around 30cm overlap. And the glass is
Around 5mm thick.

Cheers

After extensive research, development and testing to destruction my Security Suckers will work on any size of overlap and have been specifically engineered to meet the requirements of "around 5 mm" glass doors.
The only thing I cannot guarantee is the quality of saliva used. A little dab'll dooyah!

Every time you fail the tongue twister you are legally obliged to put £1 into my PayPal account.

Those found trying to avoid this small penalty will receive a visit from Vambo when he has the grumps.

Here's one for you:In an emergency a good sized ball of blue tack works as good as any wedge
We have supply issues down here on Isle Of Wight so emergency's do crop up too often-most stuff is delivered by sea turtles pulling a raft of palm logs AKA Wightlink Ferries

another option is to get yourself to b&q and get yourself some metal rod the same diameter as the thickness of your glass. Cut it down to size enough to drop into the runner stopping the glass from opening. Obviously two of these would be required for both sides and you'll need a magnet to get it back out again :)
