Hi all. Been a while since I posted here so hi to those who remember me. Lilith is almost 2yrs old and is about 320g, and just over 3ft. Doing well!
I've just bought a cork bark tube hide for Lilith. What's the best way to treat it for mites and nasties. Does it need soaking in bleach solution, baking on the oven, freezing?
Bought it from a reptile shop and all they said was to pout boiling water on t and/or freeze it.
Thanks in advance! |

You could soak in a milton solution or use boiling water to make up a milton solution and pour over. If milton is good enough to use for baby bottles it should be ok for snakes! |

Will Milton solution kill any potential bugs on there or is that what the boiling water is for? Then just let it dry for a few days? |

I stuck mine in the freezer for a couple of weeks, then scrubbed it with a water and brush, and sprayed with reptile disinfectant ( I'm more paranoid about things from shops, than from our garden :-) ), then rinsed again and let it dry. |

The boiling water will kill bugs and the milton will sterilize everything. |
