As above I have bought my 1st wooden viv, but have a couple of questions. Do people drill there own holes in their vivs for probe wires & the wire for the heat mat?? Also I have bought a viv lock & it looks like I either have to cut a hole in the glass or the clamp that holds it in place has to go inside the viv, which looks dangerous to Lola. I don't want her hurting herself.
The clamp that goes inside is fine :) they dont hurt themselves on it :) You can always use a rubber wedge too if you didnt want to use a lock for a viv :) what kinda viv did you get? Mine are all viv exotic (discontinued style though) and they have little semi circle spaces cut into the top back panel at the corner enough for the wires to go in place before securing the top of the viv on x
I'm glad I saw this post as I have a question about the Viv locks too (I apologise for hijacking your thread). I have the new style Vivexotic viv and have put it all together. The gap between the glass doors is tiny and it is a tight fit for the lock to the point that it is really hard to slide the doors open when you remove the actual lock part. My worry is that the glass will crack due to the constant pressure from the lock over time. Can anyone alleviate my fears? are they always so tightly fitting?
Thanks
