Hi guys. I am not too sharp on my morphs of corns, would you say this is a bloodied or not. They are the best pictures I could get from the seller
Going to move this to the morph bit, more likely to get an answer there :) |

I thought a bit lumpy as well. And how can you tell. Would the belly markings be clearer in a blood red

I'm not so good on morphs either but I also have a bloodred and looks quite a bit different to yours, look at my signature picture. How old is your snake? |

The snake isn't mine. I am looking to get another corm and have always liked bloodreds. What has thrown me though is the belly markings. I know they darken as they age. It's around a year old. Like I said it isn't mine yet. They said she last ate yeaterday. I'm surprised they handled her straight after

Like I said not my snake. If it was I would not hold it till 3 days after earliest. Hopefully no regurg or anything untowards. Also no stat with it either. Shocking how people aren't told to get one or even take 5 minutes to see you need a stat. Shame I couldn't put my finger on the morph. I'm ok when it comes to royals but terrible with some of the more subtle corn morphs and like has been said it looks similar to a hypo at this age |

Just emailed them stating that it looked like a hypo. They said that it was and they forgot so put it up as a bloodred |

Id actually say it looks more diffused Hypo would have belly chequers and id expect it to be brighter thats kinda dull and the belly wouldnt be diffused like it is in the picture above my diffused has changed so much since ive had her she loses more and more of her markings with every shed |

Are you planning on buying it Luke? Is it dependant on what morph it is?
I'm shocked that they are handling it like that, so soon after a feed . It's basic snake husbandry not to handle for at least 48hrs after a feed....as you know. I'm not so surprised about the not having a stat. Even reptile shops say you don't need one, so unless people do research into their pet they know no different . I just hope, if you don't take it, that it goes to someone who knows what they're doing....and soon!
Xxx

I was going to buy her but now that the seller can't say what morph it is in confidence I am dubious. I was looking for a bloodred but I like the hypo diffused like she is. So I may make some sort of offer and maybe see what she turns out to be dating that I may look for other snakes which the seller knows the genetics for sure |

*disclaimer - not an expert, the following is the way I understand it lol*
Bloodred means the same as diffused to a lot of people. Others state that snakes should only be termed bloodred if they are truely a bloodred colour. But this cannot be determined at a young age anyway as the red colour develops as the snake ages. But if they are trying to determine whether the snake is a hypo bloodred or a hypo diffused then genetically it is the same, and the only way for you to be certain of getting a deep red snake with almost no pattern (as a lot of people believe is the true definition of bloodred) is to buy an adult already that colour. |

that is a very clear way of putting it smart bunny!
Bloodred is what a diffused snake started off as. As they was outbred they basically lost the red colouring so really any diffused corn IS a bloodred, however a true bloodred has the deep red colouration.
So realistically the snake your are looking to purchase is indeed a bloodred, it just may not had the deep red colouration you are looking for |
