Having problems with the exo terra digital we have in our rainbow boas viv, just seems to be very erratic and unreliable. Bearing in mind that young rainbows are supposed to have over 85% humidity we would like a reasonably accurate hygrometer - although I am not certain if they exist for reasonable money lol. What do others use? |

I know people don't like the dial ones, but would it be an idea to use one as a backup? I've got one in each viv, only as a reference, and they seem to be working quite well.
I also keep the dial thermometers, just for general background temperature, in addition to my digi ones, and I must say, they've never been out, either. Both the thermometers and hygrometers are Exo Terra.
I'm not saying to use it instead of digital, just as a backup, so that if you see your digital showing funny results, you can look at the other one, too, and they are pretty cheap. |

I have found that all the digital ones are useless. Cheap and expensive. I had three in my dart frog and all read different varying 20 percent. The analogue ones fair better if you have a good understanding of your reptiles husbandry and do not over compensate for the slower reaction rates of the dial ones. Although the to deteiriate over time x IMO |
