I have a one year old snow corn and I got her two weeks ago, all going really well. But when my husband handles her she does a poo on him. She is a very shy corn but friendly. My husband is ok with the snake and when i feed her we always give her two days from feeding to handling her and she does what she needs to do in the vivarium, but waits for my husband as well could anybody give advice. Thanks x

Thanks so much, was starting to think she did not like my husband and was waiting for him. My hubby did see the funny side of it but felt really bad as she is my pet not his but he likes handle her as well, we want her to be part of the family so wanted him to bond with her also. Was only expecting her to go the once after her feed, but when you have to go, I guess u have to go..lol thanks again x

Yep, +1 for the bulge. Also watch for the tell tale signs: Stop, Stare, Tail lift. When they are just about to go, they freeze, eyes unfocused, staring into " nowhere" , they arch their tail up....and then you better be ready with a tissue :-)

The stimulation of being handled also helps them poop!

Thank you so much for all your advice, it's great to be able to talk to other people as I don't have any friends that have snakes of any kind, and when I do tell my friends they look at me as if I'm mental....I'm not bothered!!!
I have another question if that's ok? My corn snake keeps wanting to feel my face with her chin, it's as if she wants to know what I look like, she takes her time but wonder if it's normal? I know corn snakes eyes are not the best, is this also another way they greet owners?

She's just sussing her world out, nothing to worry about.
I've got snakes that love to explore my specs which is something to see when it's my huge 5ft Sidney!

Glad you feel happy here chatting snake. We're all a pretty friendly bunch.

As for the pooing - does she sit still and calmly poop, or does she start racing around and flinging her tail about? If it's the last, it's more likely to be musking rather than pooping ^^

I did ask my husband because I am out of the room when she does it. She sits still, then lifts her tail up, does the business then moves slowly hoping you will not know. Maybe she feels happy and relax with or just getting her own back on men. In the pet shop only men worked and handled the snakes and when the man at the pet shop got her for me so I could handle her they just snatched at her. I went back to the shop two weeks later, just for some more small mice and the chap said "I bet you have been bitten loads with that corn snake" I said no, not one bite! He looked at me gone out, in shock! Maybe she is a nervous snake. She does not poo on me?

Maybe you've just been lucky....up to now
My daughter has a remarkable knack of passing a snake onto someone else just as they are about to go haha. I now always check to see if they've been before getting them out and if on getting one out it has a bump, it gets put straight back again.

Ha ha maybe your right, guess I have been lucky. We do wait till she has been before handling, I know everything is in good working order if she is going twice after her feed. Xx
