Hi. I've had my hatchling Caramel Corn Snake (Sugar) since Monday. This is the first time I've owned a snake. The first day she was really active and we saw a lot of her. But she's now been hiding under her stone since yesterday morning. Today is meant to be feeding day but there's no sign of her - should I be worried?

nope not at all, just being a snake and hiding away is nothing to worry about. Once shes settled in you should see her out and about a bit more. If you want to feed her just lift the stone off no worries.

And welcome along

Thank you so much - great to have a positive reply so quickly. Don't want to seem dense and will try not to make people sick of me asking stupid questions, but I did lift the stone and I can't see her!!! But there is a pile of the bedding under the stone so might she be under that?? I can't see how she could possibly have got out. Sorry for sounding thick :)

Hey there's no such thing as a stupid questions....we all have to learn!
Another reason why she might be hiding is because of shedding.
It's nothing to worry about.

Ahhh - I see her :) Thanks guys - panic over! Bit worried about disturbing her to feed her in case she is shedding - they're not meant to feed then are they? Blimey there's a lot to worry about - I should have had another baby lol!

Some will still feed while shedding and others won't but don't worry about that.
You'll soon learn what your snake likes and doesn't like and you'll be able to make your mind up what's best for you both.

Having another baby is much more of a chore although you'll find yourself worrying about your snake just as much!!!!!

I'd post a photo if I had the faintest idea of how to put one on - not used to this bit either! I have fed her though and it was the most incredible thing I've ever seen!
