Nigel has finally eaten a large rat weaner . Since the beginning of january he has been striking at the rat then just leaving it after tossing it around his viv for a while. Last night he actually ate it. I know its what royals do and we were prepared for this but its such a relief when they eat something. I won't be surprised if he is back to refusing to eat again next week but at least he has eaten something. |

I've got a royal that will strike and constrict then drop it and leave it. I found that if I take the rat out and leave it a while, reheat it and offer it again, sometimes he takes it second time. Worth a try if he messes about next time. |

Been there and tried that. He just kept striking and leaving. Think he would have gone on doing it all night lol. |

Well Nigel ate again last night. He shot out of his hide before I even opened the viv door. Must have smelt it. Don't know that I would say he has stopped his fast just as yet though. I know how these royals like to trick us lol. Really pleased though |
