Hi all, I was just thinking that I would like to get a second corn snake but do not know exactly how I would go about it. Would I have to get a second vivarium or would I be able to put both in the same one and just take them out to feed? (My current snake is about 7 months old).

I would always recommend snakes are kept separate for various reasons. But bringing a new snake into your home does require an element of quarantine so you would require a 2nd setup anyways ;)

Thanks for the help, I may look at investing in another set up in the future then (will probably wait until I'm a bit more confident with what I am doing though)

You are not the only one Slink - my husband has already said that if all is going well in 6 months, I can get another. Not for breeding, and I will keep them separately, but he can see how much pleasure my girl has given me already.

I have my sights set on a male lavender or phantom. I adore the brightly coloured snakes that there are out there, but seem to be drawn to the more lightly coloured ones. I think the fact I handed the debit card over last night for him to get a new tropical fish tank might have something to do with it, considering he already has one

The best way is to wait until your snake outgrows his viv/faun and you need to buy a new home for him...leaves a nice spare for a new arrival

Unbeknownst to me, my husband, AKA, Mr I Hate Snakes, has been researching what woods, sealants etc are compatible with snake vivs and wants to make Cathy's big girl home himself, and said if he was making one, he might as well make it 2, so it looks like a Heathcliff will be incoming later on this year, if I can show him that I am able to look after her properly. I am NOT going to breed, so he was thinking of putting ventilation and a storage area in the middle of the stack he has sketched out already.

He has even said we can take the car to go to England to get one (we live on the Isle of Man) so will no doubt be asking around later on in the year for a male lavender or granite!
