As many of you know by the amount of topics i put on here i brought my hatchy corn monday, well anyway this morning i was changing his water just as i put his bowl in he came out his hide i thought he was gonna bite me so instead of moving my hand out i left in there for a few seconds to show im no threat so instead of biting he decided to use my arm as a ladder to try escape but as i took him off my arm and put him back in he wriggled off to his hide to sulk. Is this a good sign that hes gaining confidence and trust?
Sorry for the huge paragraph :p |

I'd give him a try tomorrow as he seems to be settling in nicely. You can just put in a sheet of towel roll and feed him on that to get him started. This will cause least stress. After a couple of feeds try him in a feeding tub.
Keep the camera handy for that important first feed for the family album. |

That sounds very positive. I would offer him food tomorrow, without getting him out, just to see what happens. Shouldn't do any harm if he's on kitchen roll. If he doesn't eat it, then you would need to throw it away. |

If he doesn't feed don't worry about it. A lot of snakes won't feed for s few weeks after moving to their new home, so no need to try braining until it becomes a problem. Sounds like he's doing well |

After defrosting the pinkie and offering it him, he didnt at all seem interested but i think this may be because he can be shy so ive put him and the pinkie in the warm hide and covered the door with some kitchen towl so its pretty dark in there, gonna leave him in there till later :) or shouldnt i do this? |

If he hasn't touched it in the next hour or so it's best to take it out and bin it. Don't worry about him not eating. My first hatchling missed his first 3 feeds before he felt ready to eat |

It is very common for a snake to refuse a feed when they are still getting used to their new home, especially if the snake is a hatchling so I wouldn't worry yet. |

Try not to worry too much. Some just need a bit more time to settle in. I've had 2 that wouldn't feed to start with, but with time they did eat, and it's a great feeling when it happens after worrying for weeks. I'm sure your little one just needs the full week to feel more relaxed |

That sounds like a better deal all round for everyone. Good on the petshop owner for making the offer. |
