Hi everyone. I brought home my new baby corn snake (Chakra) last night, followed all the instructions for set up from the breeder -- but still I'm here awake in the middle of the night worrying if I've put enough air holes in his tub... can you let me know what you think (so I can get some sleep and stop worrying, lol)
Hope you can see in the photos: 6 holes on either side, and 4 more in the top of the tub above the 'cool' end of the tub.

Thanks very much.
And can you tell me -- what are those numbers (like "0.2.0") that so many forum users have in their signatures? what do they mean?? |

1.2.3 = 1 male, 2 females, 3 unknown. you only need include the 3rd number if you have any unknown sex otherwise just the 2 will do ;)
yours would be 1.0 Hypo Lavender Corn: 'Chakra' |

First number is number of males, second females, third the number of " unknown sex " of the animals :-). So, if you had 1 male corn snake, it'd read 1.0.0. |
0.1.0 late CB10 Carolina corn snake - Bazilishka 1.0.0 CB11 Abbots Okeetee- Little Twiddler 1.0.0 CB11 Hypo corn- Sebastianek 1.0.0. CB14 Butter Motley - Squidwood 0.0.2 CB18 normal/ Okeetee yearlings Bunny and Lalalishka 0.0.1 hognose 0.1.0 stable cat 0.1.0 house cat |

Good choice on the hypo lav! Males are much more bright than females.
I can see from the pics that his eyes can pick up the camera flash really well. My hypo lav has the same thing! |

Thank you... and good to hear about the males' colouring. Looking forward to watching the changes as he grows.
Let me ask you this -- is the flash okay then? I stopped snapping shots today, because the room he's in is low light and unless it is high noon the flash comes on automatically. Despite having to photoshop out the white/red-eye look, I was wondering if the flash lights could harm his eyes? Probably not, but I'm in this over-cautious new-snake-mum mood right now, LOL. |
