Hi!
I have question regarding feeding schedule. My snake is 2.5 year old, weight is 351 g, length is 125 cm and grows 4 cm per month. Snakey Snakerson is also eating during shedding, doesn't refuse food. I've been feeding one mouse (~22 g) every 7 days, but Snakey seems still hungry. I'm not sure when to move up to bigger size mouse. What feeding schedule you would advise? |

Is the mouse still leaving a bump? If not then move up a size. A snake can eat a meal up to 1.5 times it's size at the widest part. Most snakes will appear to still be hungry and looking for food. They are opportunist feeders so always on the lookout! I feed all mine once a week. |

I feed 18 month old Corno a large mouse weekly which is I think what a 22g mouse would be. I don't think it's advisable to go any bigger than that - or at least not unless you reduce them to every 10-14 days so I can't see much difference there. I know that once they get to pretty much adult size then the food should not leave as much of a bump as when they are still growing, but obviously Snakey still has another 6 months or so before being considered an 'adult'. I think from what I have read that I would probably stick to the schedule you are on, but I would also be interested if anyone has any other advice as I am in a similar situation, and I have seen others stating they only feed their adults mediums once a week, which sounds not very much to me - but then I don't want Corno to get fat lol! |

There are 2 feeding plans in this thread; one is based on the Munson feeding plan, and another based on the modified Munson.

At the moment I'm feeding my CB11 snakes, which range from 220g to 280g, on a medium mouse every 14 days, and they are still putting on weight.
The frequency and mouse size you are feeding sound fine to me, but snakes tend to be opportunist feeders as they never know when the next feed will be. Keep an eye on his weight, and adjust his feeding as you see fit... |

That's the thing Dan - so you are feeding far less than the feeding plans advise. Which is why I am happy for the time being - but will have to just play it by ear to make sure she does not become overweight... it's so much easier when they are younger and you just keep increasing the food when the bump gets too small lol!! |

Just dropping their feeds down for the winter. They'll be back on weekly mediums next month. But they're still putting on weight, so I'm not overly worried about it...
