Hello!

So we have had Sir Severus aka Snakey Snake for 3 months now.
He is 2-3 years old and 4ft in length, I've not been able to weigh him yet.

We adopted him from a friend who fed him 1 medium mouse every week or so (basically, when she remembered, but she said he would come looking for more food regularly. He would poo after 3-4 days.

So, we put him on 1 large mouse every 10 days, but he didn't poo for over a week.
So, we put him on 1 large mouse every 2 weeks. Still didn't poo for well over a week.

My questions are, do you think he is not poohing as regularly because he is being fed less often? And do you think we should keep him on 1 large every 2 weeks or change to 1 medium every 10 days?

He is lively enough, likes being handled, isn't getting fat, drinks enough water etc.

Thanks for any help!

My daughter's corn is the same age and similar size, he weighs just over 500g and is on a large mouse every 10 days if that helps
He could be a friend for Severus as his name's Voldemort

All mine are fed once a week. If he can take a large mouse without any problems then I'd put him on weekly meals and see how he goes. Don't worry about the pooing, it will sort itself out once he gets onto a regular feeding regime.

Is he a healthy weight/shape? If so, I would continue with one mouse a week. If he's a little chunky, then one every 10 days or every 2 weeks might be better. I think feeding schedules are often dictated by the snake.

Apollo can put on weight by just looking at food so he is only fed once every 10-14 days
