I know hes about to shed he has all the signs, his eyes went blue and now have cleard and his skin looks really dull. he hasn't moved and i have just left him be. he has missed a feed (i didn't even offer it him because the way he has been) but i am not worried about this. but what i was wondering is it is normal that he has not moved in the last 4 days. he has just sat on the heat mat under same plants. i was under the impression that when they were about to shed they would sit in their water bowls or keep cool in the cold end? my hot end is 28 to 28.5 the cold end is around 22 to 23. just like and idea of what every one else corns do? I know he prob knows best so i am just leaving him well alone at the moment. this will be the 5 shed with me but he is acting the most different with this one.

Humidity is very important. You'd think he'd use the water bowl to get wet but mine don't either lol I have a spare hide that I put some damp sphagnum moss into and put that near the heat mat end.
My snakes use that a lot when shedding and it helps them get the skin off in one go.
I would worry to much about it though. He knows what he's doing, but a humid hide can help. |

i did think of putting one in but i don't think he will use it as he hasn't moved, i got some moss sall i put a hide in now or do you think its too late now as i think he will prob shed tonight / tomorrow? |

| Mine is currently doing exactly the same! I am measuring humidity though and as my house is rather damp it is around 60-70%, so he is obviously happy with the warmth, he has never had a bad shed with me either. When he's shed i'll get my dehumidifier in here to bring it down a bit, as I don't want him getting an RI. |

| he will be fine. most of my corns stay in the warm end until they've shed and they don't move to much until they've shed. I only use a damp moss hide if the snake has had a bad shed before |

| yes he has never had a bad shed, i will just leave him and let him get on with it. hopefully soon he will be back to normal. thanks for all the feedback |

If you don't think he will use a moist hide you could just lay a damp cloth on top of the hide he is currently using. Just keep it damp and it will increase the humidity. Also pop his water dish in the warm end.  |

| just been in the room where he is kept and he has shed :) annoied i missed it now as i was only in there an hour ago and he had not shed yet... never mind there is always next time :) |

| I'm sure they do it on purpose. I haven't caught a shed yet, I managed to see Aphrodite shed the last inch of her tail once. I had only left the room for 5 minutes and I came back and she'd nearly done it! Must be shy... |
