Ive had my corn for about 8 - 9 months and shes about 1 year and 4 month old. Shes not 2ft long yet and is still quite skinny although shes feeding on 2 fuzzies a week. Any comments on how big a snake her age should be? she was really small when I bought her :\ |

Well, actually there's no rule for this, the measurements change from snake to snake. I am afraid we can only give you examples. For instance, my corn is a year old and is slightly over two ft long and weighs 43 grams. She's on one fuzzy a week. Maybe your corn is a small one, or maybe she will have a growth spurt soon. |

Snakes vary just like we do in size. Some are big, some are small. It may have been kept on a retainer diet (fed as little as possible) prior to you buying it and just needs time to grow. When you say it has 2 fuzzies a week do you mean 2 in one feeding session or 2 seperate feeding session with 1 fuzzie? If it takes 2 at each session then you might want to up the mouse size. You can feed a mouse up to 1.5 times the size of your snake at it's widest part. I'd feed it once a week. You don't want to overload it's stomach if it's only used to small meals. It could cause a regurge which neither the snake or you want! I'm sure once you get into a regular feeding regime on the correct size mouse your snake will soon grow. Let us know how it goes...... |

Yup all snakes are different. I've got one snake who's about 8 month old and he's on large fuzzies and is rather long for his age yet my other who is about 7 month old and she is still diddy. |

As long as you don't give her anything above the 1.5 rule then she should be ok. It's amazing what size prey they manage!

The first snake I got stayed small for ages, then all of a sudden he rocketed up. Putting on about 8g a week!! He's now slowed down, but is definitely still growing |

Not being funny in any way, but if she's been taking 2 fuzzies a feed for 3 months then she should really have moved up to a bigger feed by now. 2 fuzzies, unless they are very small ones, will most likely actually be larger than 1 small. |

As long as she is eating, pooping and shedding then whatever size she is, is the size she's meant to be. Although it does sound like she could be ready to go up to smalls. A corn snake can eat something 1.5 times as wide as their widest part, it's amazing how big an item they can happily get down

As another example I have one snake 1yr 7mths he is 3ft6ins and weighs in at 431g but he has always been a great feeder so you can see the difference there can be. As long as everything is ok with your snake I wouldn't worry |
