| Is there anyways I can help my adult corn from being to scared of me? every time i touch her she gets a fright and dashs to her hide, i want to handle her more to get her over it but it is such a truama for her i dotn want to keep scaring her. |

| Try putting a clean sock in your waistband for a few hours, then put in with her, help get used to your scent, and short handling sessions |

You've gotta think how big your hand is compared to your snake, don't come from the top and try and scoop him/her up :)
Snakes don't want to be handled all the time. |

Yeah only had her 3 weeks and she is 3 and a half years old, previous owner said he handeled her for first 18month / 2years but it got less and less and she hasnt been handled for almost a year other then to change her out, ive handled her twice in 3 weeks (left her for first 7 days) and both times was an event where i literally had to chase her around her viv. |

The best thing is to keep handling her so she gets used to it.
Start off with short sessions of just a few seconds and gradually increase the time.
With the old sock trick you need to keep the sock against your body, inside your clothing, for the day prior to popping it in her favourite hide.
Linger as you change her water and check her substrate so your scent becomes part of her safe, secure home.
It will take time for her to get used to you. It might take years rather than weeks but it really will be worth it in the end. |

| My snakes would dash into their hides if I gave them the chance lol! One time when she is in her hide, go in but make a little bit of noise as you do just in case she is asleep. Remove the hide totally and she'll probably be all curled up in a ball and it's easier to 'grab' (by grab I don't mean roughly, but calm and confident, try not to hesitate or flinch etc) her as you can hold a few coils at once. A lot of corns are a bit viv-defensive, but fine once they are out, and you may well find she is the same. Confidence is the key as she will then feel less nervous in return... if you aren't confident - fake it lol! |

| Thanks for all the advice, Ill try the sock trick, and just keep plugging away, she isnt aggressive, she is just scared, i picked her up eariler, and when i was trying to get her she buried her head in the aspen because i had removed all her hides and she had no where else to go, i feel guilty for scaring her but she need to be handled even if for just cleaning her out, but i also have a small daugther and eventually i want her to be able to hold her and enjoy her once she is tamed. |
