Recently met a dumerils boa when we bought Agatha. Nice snakes. Obviously you need to do research into their care and you need to make sure you can a provide a vivarium larger enough to house the boas potential adult size. It is also illegal, I believe, for anyone to sell a durmeril boa that does not have a microchip and an official CITES appendix 1 certificate if it does have these then it can only be gifted to someone.

It is illegal for them to be taken from the wild and exported. There are not many of them in the wild and I believe only found in one area. The certificate and microchip is required so that the animal can be traced so that it can be proven that the snake is not wild caught but has been bred in captivity. They are on the endangered species list. They are also known as the Madagascan Ground Boa
