But no spare mat or stat for off spring? I'm sorry if I'm coming across brash but its frustrating to see people not taking proper precautions. The short time your snakes have been on a 'diet' it's hard to believe they are down to correc weights as it has taken people on here years to slim their corns down. You must continuously read how we all bark on about stats?

She is listening to what people are saying to her and trying to rectify the things she is doing in error due to pet shops giving her bad advice. We all know that there is a lot of bad advice given out by some pet shops and it is perfectly normal for people to trust them on the advice they give. It may not be getting sorted as quick as we would like but looking at her profile she is 15 so will probably not have access to cash as and when us that are working will have or people who are more fortunate and she has stated that she is saving for a second viv so she can split up her co-habiting pair as advised by members on here. As she doesn't have the money for a stat then it will probably take her a while to save up for the second viv but it is not the end of the world, lots of people co-habit without any issues and even if they do breed she can just freeze the eggs so will not need lots of hatchie boxes, more mats and stats etc.
Hopefully she will get things sorted quickly and keep on listening to the good advice she is being given on here

I think everyone is taking everything I'm saying the wrong. I may not put pleasantries in between every word but I do not mean it offensively just plainly. No offence e was meant.

I didn't think you we're being harsh at all, I think now (in my opinion that is lol) that enough has been said! We have all told her what is best, hopefully she will be all sorted soon :D

Mine was not a response having a go at you or directed specifically to you so sorry if it came over that way and I completely agree with the advice you have given in your other posts (as I usually do ).

Well that escalated quickly... XD
I am getting the viv custom made by a friend(4ftx2ftx2ft) and it's going to cost £95 so 7 weeks of saving and I have the second viv. Until I can get a second stat I'll have to run both heat mats off one stat. Don't want to but it's that or they stay together longer than actually needed. Once I have the second stat I'll have them both running off separate stats. I am trying my absolute hardest and I'm sorry I can't fix it all straight away. I was told that I never needed a stat, no guard on a heat bulb(no longer have a heat bulb, LED strip) and that if my corns liked to move the substrate(which they do) I would be better putting the mat under the viv between 2 sheets of poly which I did and that keeps the viv at a nice temp(30C max) but I can clearly see now that despite being a reptile "specialist" they know nothing. Worryingly they keep all their reps(including a breeding pair of BCI) the exact same way as they told me to keep mine.

Also, the corns are at around about 650-700G each now. And they are starting to look a little thin so are now on 1 large every 2 weeks. They are starting to triangle in the back area.

Will get some when I finally get home XD A weekend at the partners turned into more than a week because of snow lol. I'm just glad I fed them before I came down so that even if I'm here for 3 weeks they'll be all good.
I may have some but they'll be from before Christmas and it's only recently(2 weeks a go) that they started to look a little triangular.

Fair doos I will look out for them when you put them up. One good thing about snakes is being able to leave them for a couple if day. Providing they get fresh water they wouldn't know any different

Well, I trust my mum to change the waters but not to feed them as I have pinkies in the freezer for a friend(she forgot to take them home last time) and my mum would probably use them lol.

It does but only to an extent, electrical problems can still happen with mats and stats. If you buy a cheap shoddy heatmat from a nameless brand or a random brand from Fleabay/China they aren't going to be as well made. Also, the printed mat with the black stripes are thought to have more faults than the other because of how the printing work, specially if it's a cheap mat.

I only use Habistat as its the only one I have ever used. I also have a back-up heatmat incase something goes wrong, tiny but good enough :D

The heat mat is between 2 pieces of Polystyrene as I was told that if my corns were the kind that like to move substrate(which they are) then I would be best putting the heat mat under the viv between 2 sheets of Poly to prevent fire. I have now been told that this could actually worsen the situation...

Yes it is more of a fire hazard. There is nowhere for heat to escape that way when it is in a sandwhich of poly, a good insulator and wood, which is heavy. Bad advise happens, I didn't have a stat for 8 years, very bad, I should ahve done more research but it happens, so long as people are willing to learn and take advise and act upon it. :D

If you don't have money cohabbing is a def no-no, A second set-up for £70 is going to be way cheaper than any vet bills for the majority of people.

A very special super, duper thanks for K :3
