Okay I have my 4 month old hatchling, galaxy and she had a very bad first shed with me I'm not sure but I think she has still go the head of her shed still on but her eyes are clear, I couldn't find it anywhere in her faun and the scales on her head are lighter by a bit... Any ideas with how I could get it off her because she is quite feisty and won't sit still for me to look and I don't want to stress her out or hurt her.
Thank you Emma |

Hi, my wee one had a bad first and second shed, the second time i put some sphagnum moss in her hot hide, removed her cold hide (so she would definately go into the moss) and it helped alot, the next day she was all new and shiny!
You say you can't find the head, it can be really hard if you have substrate like aspen to find bits of shed that come off in little pieces! Took me about 5 days to find part of a shed one time with my big corn Oscar haha! I'd try with the moss and see if that helps.
More people will be along soon with more advice too i'm sure
Good luck! |

Awwh thank you for that advice she has a damp hide but doesn't go in there at all and the topic title was auto corrected by the iPad so it says bed shed instead of bad shed lol |

If she does still have the head of her shed on you can put her in a damp flannel or towel and let her rub at it with her nose, that should help her get it off, but as Freddiesmum said, it is easy to miss part of a shed sometimes. I found the head of a shed attached to the inside of one of my snake's coconut hides after looking for it for three days! |

The moist hide is the best idea to start with. Leave it in for a couple of days then let her run through a damp, rough towel to take off any final bits of shed. Next time she goes 'blue' add a moist hide to the viv. |
