Hello all.
Names Mark and have my 1st Corn, in fact my 1st snake. Came by it from my son (btw im 50 yrs old) who walked in one day with it, and 3 days later moved in with girl friend and left Snakie ( thats his/her name) here. So I have a new pet.

Have grown to adore Snakie, and I can sit for hours watching it. Snakie is about 4-5 months old about 1.5 feet (messaured from it last shred yesterday)we got him at around 1 month old, and just re-housed him into a 30 inch viv. I have been told I could of left him in the starter tank it came in but im a great beleaver in giving pets plenty of room to stretch. Watched him for about 2 hours exploring every inch and he seemed to be in no way distressed about the extra space.

Snakie seems to enjoy being petted, infact if i rest my hand on the bottom of the viv with in mins his climbing up my arm, he feeds well and every shred has gone well.

All that said im only confused by one thing and thats his morph, the person my son got the snake off says its an albino, but from one of the posts in here showing all the morphs im not sure, im thinking it looks more like a snow. But as I've said 1st sanke so I have no idea.

Heres a photo if some one could shed some light on his morph that would be great.

Any way the forum looks great with friendly people and lots of advice and help, thanks for all that.

And this is the viv

yep,he does look like a snow. I really like his Viv,lots of cover for him. If you measured his length by the shed it might not be accurate as the skin tends to stretch when they shed. He sounds like such a friendly snake :)

Welcome to the forum, for you and Snakie, he looks lovely.
Like Moppet said, the shed tends to stretch, I read somewhere that you get an approximate length of the snake, if you deduct 10% of the length of the shed. Hope that helps :-)

Hi and welcome :) Just for information - some people do call snows albinos. The problem with snakes is they have 2 pigments not just melanin like us, so if a snake has no melanin it is an amel (amelanistic) which some people call red albino, and if no erythrin it is anery (anerythristic) which some people call black albino. I think the albino terms are used more over in the US but am not sure. So yes, your snake is definitely a snow which means it has no melanin OR erythrin, and some people would call it an albino :)
