Hello!
It's been a while since my last post :D
I've heard from people that it's not a great idea for corns to be housed together... I know they arn't social animals but I am just wondering if anyone has housed their snakes together.. One of my friends has his snakes in the same viv and they are always wrapped around eachother and it looks like they are snuggling :>
The reason I am asking this is because I quite like the idea of more than one snake in a viv...

You should really use another set up for quarantine purposes anyway.

I house my two adults (Jake and Saphira) together. Never had any issues, but yea... that doesn't mean others won't have any issues with cannibalism and such. It's relatively common here in the Netherlands, btw :)

My two younger girls are housed together, they always have been (before I owned them).
I wouldn't put male and female together unless for breeding purposes and wouldn't put hatchlings together as this is when cannabalism(sp?) is apparently more common.

It is all down to preference and to be able to seperate if there are problems. Some say that if you have a seperate set-up for quarantine you may as well just keep them singly.

may never happen but you never know.........

I know a fair few do cohabit, and thats fine until it goes wrong as you can see from the pics. Is it worth it? In my opinion no and I am sure loads can post pics of snakes together but as these pics show it can and does go wrong.

Hahahah, that's what I get for replying from my phone, pausing halfway through and typing the rest without reading back xD

As for housing adults together, I don't see much of a problem with it as long as you provide both enough space and shelters. If you house breeding pairs together (like I have Jake and Saph together) it's important to make sure that the male doesn't harass the female constantly. I'm very lucky to have Jake who's never interested in females except in spring, and only for a few days after Saphira sheds... ^^

As far as I'm aware, cannibalism only happens in snakes under 2-3 years old and one when there is a considerable size difference. For example when you put a 1ft long corn with a 3ft long or something along those lines. I have my pair together though I am getting a new vivid to split them up. This is only because they are male and female and have been breeding recently. I will however be getting an Anery corn from my partner when it has put a little weight and length on. The problem I have currently with this Anery corn is it was taken to him very underweight and is only about 3-4ft long whereas mine are both over 5ft long. The Anery corn also has no known gender so I'll be having him/her sexed before I get it. The reason for this is that when it has grown up to at least 4.5ft long it will be living with one of mine in the new 48"x24"x24" that I'm getting. So if it's male it it'll be living with Cereus my current male in the bigger viv with Sakana in the current 3ft. And if female the other way round, my current female(Sakana) and the Anery living in the big viv And Cereus in the current 3ft.
