Ok I'm starting to think its broken

Ages ago I bought a exo terra viv for Goyle 40 pounds was a bargain just for the viv but with it came a luck rep duo stat. The guy said he had no idea how to use it.

I dug it out as I only need it to heat to 10-12 degrees and I am brumating hero

Well I have set up my poly box. Mat in bottome stat and therm probe in the middle. Tried it without anything in and then with a tea towel.

The light clicks on and the mat heats up and the the light clicks off but the mat still gradually heats up

The stat has the ability to control a light (on/off) and a mat as a stat (on/off)

I have the mat plugged into the socket marked with a single I

Any ideas?

I have done exactly as it says. It just keeps heating up. Although the heat light clicks off at the right temp.

Is it heating up continuously once the light has gone out? How long have you monitored it for after the light goes out? I have one of these and the temps increase by a 1c-2c once the light has gone out then starts to drop slowly.

If I am not mistaken you can set different temperatures for night and day. Are you sure you have the temperature set for the correct time. If that makes sense. Infact I think there are several different programmes you can set unless I have a different one.

Just plug a house lamp into 1. Set Max temp to 30. Then hold probe in ya hand. Should have red heat light on to start then when state is up to temp an red light goes off lamp should go off. It it doesn't its either buggered or someones tampered with the wiring. Have u tryed plugging into outlet 2 incase the sockets been rewired or something..
