I'm considering starting my own custom vivarium once George starts to outgrow his LX24.
What is the size needed for an adult corn to live comfortably?
I aim on building something in the same style as existing furniture in my house.
The size I was thinking was :
L 3foot x W 1 foot x H 2 foot
Is this ok ? |

3'x1'x2' should be okay. Unless your corn gets larger than normal and requires a 4 foot viv. The length of the corn snake should be no longer than the length plus width of the viv, so in a 3 ft by 1 ft viv you could keep a 4 foot corn snake happily, anything much larger may need a larger viv. I have planned to keep all my corns in the vivexotic lx36 which are 3 ft x 1ft2inches. |

Ok thank you both for advice. Will now do some research on where to get glass and vents and other bits for a good price |

I'd go 4 foot just in case, plus you can do more in it and that's always fun! |

The thing about making your own ( or custom built ) is, that you can make it ANY size, that suits you , as long as it's over the minimum size for your snake - why not, for example, 3 and a half foot? :-) |

This is my design, although Im finding it very hard to find wood that matches Ikea Birch Veneer. I'm thinking that Maple is very close ?

Priced it up in BnQ and the wood alone is £112.45 (excluding if I make mistakes). This is way more expensive than I expected.
