I've just been told by someone I know that keeps a lot of different snakes, mainly kings, rats and corns but he has a soft spot for carpet pythons too, that my girl(who I have been told is Hypo) is actually a rat snake cross... Now I'm a little worried as I did want to breed her but I don't really want to if she's a hybrid... It's not that I have anything against them but they don't sell as well round here so I'd be stuck with the babies.
I have these photo's and was wondering if someone like Eeji could tell me if this other person is correct?

If anymore pics are needed I can post them  Admittedly she was a little overweight, weighing in at 900 grams in these photo's and now she is at about 785 grams :) I also need a hand on knowing when she is the right weight for her size as she is unusually large at 5'6" long... |

She's got a similar face to my Rubi, who is 100% corn.
Her weight doesn't seem to bad given her length, it's more about the 'hips'. If you we're to chop her straight in half would she be tent, bread or round shaped? Bread is the one to aim for :) |

Maybe Ultramel? Wasn't this one the offspring from a gold dust?
The ultra gene is supposedly from grey rat snakes... |

No she's not offspring from a gold dust... I know one of her parents(and pretty sure this makes her het for it) was an Anerythristic but I never met her other parent... That's what made me question after having someone tell me that she was a hybrid...
Serena, when I asked about her weight before(back when she was 900 grams) I was told she was overweight. Was just wondering if around about 750 was good? She still has hips though... |

OK. Might have been someone else. And I also put ultramel, rather than ultra.
Ultra has a hypo effect, and is also supposedly from a corn/rat cross.

Her saddles, face shape, length and how thick she is...
Apparently because some of her saddles join rather than all of them being separate it means she's a cross because when he's bred corns to rats they always have this joining in some of their saddles but none of his pure corns do.
Apparently her face is too long to be a pure corn.
She's too big to be pure corn as they only reach 5'. This also implies that my Butter male is a hybrid too as he's 5'2" but according to this person that doesn't make him a hybrid 
And she's too thick to be a pure corn. Once again this also means that my butter is a hybrid going by that as he's just as thick as her...
I'll admit her face is quite long and thin but I' not say that makes her a cross...

Lots of pure corns have joined saddles in places, so that's definitely not a sign of a hybrid. Corns can reach 6 foot, very occasionally even over ( from Kathy Loves Book ). Re face - I don't know, but if eeji says hypo, I'd go along with what he says.
I recently had an "experienced" person showing me an " AMEL" mottley - it had BLACK eyes ( ... ) |

To the red - I know... He says because none of his pure corns have it(he has about 12 pure corns) and because any hybrids he has created/has kept(about 3) do have it means she's a hybrid.
To the blue - I thought that sounded more like it considering I've seen defo pure corns that are over 5ft...
To the green - I want to listen to Eeji but she has got differences to my butter male apart from the obvious which is colour... |

Head shots of my adults and yearlings. Bit of variation between them all...
Again, joined saddles, differing lengths and different head shapes are all variations within the species. Nothing about your snakes say hybrid to me. |
