Emmy shed yesterday, not a great one. tail still on, I think, couldn't find it and she looks kinda, shabby? at the end. going to run her through a damp cloth tonight and hope that helps, will follow what the shedding guide on here says, tad concerned I will hurt her! hopefully all goes well fingers crossed.

If you're doing the damp towel tonight I'd suggest putting a damp hide in her viv/faun today and the water on the hot side. It should help loosen the shed prior to tonight. Also an older, rougher towel is better for the job than a nice soft one....sounds horrible but it's better than a retained shed.
Just be firm but don't squeeze and you'll be ok. Good luck....

thanks, unfortunately I'm at work just now so can't do the damp hide, I did however put the water on the hot side and she was sleeping under it when I left, not sure if that'll help her?

I had the same this morning, retained shed on my hatchling lavenders tail (damn heating!)...

I just lightly misted her faun, left her for 30 mins, and then run her through a damp towel. All the shed came off. Just be firm and she'll be fine!

so I done th whole damp towel trick which worked. was scared of hurting her, but she seemed to know what to do and kind of moved in a different way when it got to the retained shed, well it felt different anyway if that makes sense! took a little while but she didn't seem stressed or freaked out by it. was quite amazing watching mad hearing (it's noisy eh?!) it come off! hopefully next shed will go better, I'm gona get some sphagnem (sp? ) moss for her next just incase. but at least I know what to do if it happens again! she's looking lovely and bright now!

So glad it all went ok. It's such a relief isn't it? Phew!!!!!
I'd pop a moist hide in next time you notice her going blue and move her water to the warm side, just as a precaution.....[:)}
