I hate it when someone says they've got a snake and I say what kind they say they don't know? I don't understand how you can look after your pet if you don't know what it is!? Have you heard anything similar? Share your thoughts.

I've never come across that but how would you not know what snake it is? Surely you have to research before you get it so you know it's in the right environment etc. Don't like the sound of that lol

Maybe they mean they don't know what morph? I'm hoping it's not a case of not knowing what kind of snake as you mean!

not every one does research first though some just go in and impulse buy with out the slightest idea of how to look after the snake, it's not just with snakes that it happens either!

not snake related but i knew some one who bought a male dog and it was actually a bitch! thing is they have had dogs previously so i can belive that some people dont know the species of snake they have! some people do make you wonder!

Well, once someone said they had a snake and I asked what type and he said he thought it was a python of some sort then he showed me a picture and it was a corn snake!

That is bad... Morphs I can understand because I'm still not 100% sure whether mine is Normal or Hypo but a completely different species

Lupi Lou- Actually that's happened to us but with rabbits. Thought we had two bitches until we went to check on them one day and saw a load of babies in the hutch... Not good!! But they were sold to us as bitches lol so we didn't question it.

Yeah been thinking about it for a while especially after the discussions on the facebook page about Normals and Hypos. And then Scalysituation mentioned it as well :)

How strange... Definitely not heard of that one :s but can certainly believe it!
My boyfriends mum has a dog, who she tells off everytime she sniffs another dogs bum. She thinks its disgusting and strange, but anybody who knows the first thing about dogs knows that's how they say hello. Anyway, Millie is now dog aggressive because she's always told off when she goes to say hello to them. Other dogs = punishment in her eyes!
So many clueless people.
Female rabbits are called doe's :p I used to breed them, and it can be fairly hard to tell their sex whilst they're young. I had many swap from bob to bobalina until they were old enough to tell properly!

Mmmmm - not difficult to tell the sex of a dog from the moment that they're born!!! They hardly hide what they are, do they? ;o)

I've seen "I have this corn snake" they then show me picture. It's not a corn, it's a king ._. I suppose maybe they see different snakes as like different breeds of dogs, and don't think care differs much. You see it a lot on gumtree and preloved.

A very special super, duper thanks for K :3
