I am considering getting a Savannah monitor. But need some help in starting out.

I would rather buy the full setup so that it lasts throughout the lifetime of the monitor.

So does anyone have any ideas where I can get the correct sized vivarium and any advice would be appreciated?

From what i have read double the length of a monitor is required for suitable housing, aprox 8ft x 4ft wide.
Was looking at a monitor myself but the children will have to move on before i get the space.
Most care sheets give these dimensions.
Not sure where u get a viv of this size.

A massive enclosure is required for a Savannah monitor. If you have a look at this website I believe it is very good for Savannah husbandry and the chap who runs the site is very knowledgeable

Big no for me then got no space . The people in pet shop said 8 by 3 by 3 would be fine. But as always they don't appear to be the most honest.

Some pet shops are great at giving out bad advice I think you need at least 2 foot of dirt so they can create a suitable burrow and then they like to climb so you need height for that so a 3' high enclosure will defiantly not be suitable. If I had the time and space I would get one or two but no chance of that for a good while.

That's me out. Not unless I can get a shed out the back with electric to it and some custom vivarium. Mind saying that I'd most likely get broken into, mind they'd probably not find what they expect

Just imagining their faces when they're expecting bikes and stuff and come face to face with a giant lizard

I love monitors, I plan on getting either a iggy or savannah once I move out.they do require very large housing as they can get to 4-5 foot plus depending if they are well bred and brought up well :)
