Heyahh,
I have a 1 and a half (approx) year old corn snake and I got talking to my science teacher at school who said I should bring him in to show in science club one day. I have permission of Head of dept. so it's all above board but is there anything I would be wary of??
Will my snake be okay?
He will be in his usual tank all day, and out for max 20mins at lunch time... Anything to consider? Thanks :)

( I have just asked this on another area of the forum by accident sorre

Sounds okay to me, as long as you have permission from the school. I'd just make sure he hasn't eaten for at least 3 days before hand in case he gets stressed by it all which could prompt a regurge if he has eaten.

I would make sure you take hand sanitizer with you for before and after people handle your snake. Last thing you need is for snakey to catch something from somebody or vice versa or somebody just getting ill anyway that day and then try to blame it on handling the snake and you have to deal with all the stress of the parents moaning.

Sounds like a good idea, I took y first snake into school when I was much younger and everyone loved it. Hand sanitizer is a good idea tho :)

Yeah, I'll get my teacher to tell everyone bout that and make them wash their hands xD

Although, most of my science club are fairly sensible (no year sevens allowed xD) so should be cool. :)

Shouldn't be a problem and agree with the hand sanitizer before and after any handling.

If you have one IMO you should take a shed with you.

It's something that I've noticed ppl have found interesting when I talk about my boys..

Yeah, I agree with the washing hands etc and I love the idea of you taking a shed with you. I have also found that people are very interested to see, hold and learn about a shed

Don't forget that snakes will sometimes poo/musk on strangers....best to warn people and take some kitchen roll! Hope it all goes well.

Yeah, not too worried about the poo because we have had someone bring in baby chicks before (you can imagine the mess :/) so people know what to do xD
