Hello all I recently posted regarding choice on housing but have decided to change my options and pick up one of these styles as i intend to own more than one corn in the near future so going to look into a stack setup. what i was wondering is the VX worth going for? Money isn't a issue so the savings i am not concerned with.
LX24 = L 587mm W 375mm H 405mm VX24 = L 587mm W 470mm H 525mm
The dimension difference. I want to put a light and guard in aswell as the heat mat will the extra height be helpful? Also does it matter which side I put the light?
thank you all again will be ordering my full setup tomorrow very excited x |

Why are you going for a 24" viv? A 36" will do a corn for life so you might be better just getting the home for life and save yourself a chunk of cash. Vivexotic have discontinued these lines now and shops are running out of stock pretty quickly so if you do want one of those ranges you may want to be quick. |

I have got 2xVX36 and got one this week from seapets so ready for another friend. But as others have said the lx and vx ranges are finishing. The new ones look quite good |

For some reason I thought you were upgrading rather than buying for a hatchie. Not sure how much the lx24 is but have you looked at these for a hatchie

This is what I have used before they were big enough to fit in their home for life. All depends on what you want or can afford but plenty of choices for hatchies. |

I was originally looking at one of those but i was very worried about how secure they are. This is my first snake so I am trying to make sure everything is perfect id be so worried about it escaping from the faun. in your experience how good are they? any escapes? Thanks all |

I was paranoid at first and used to put a heavy book on the top for a couple of weeks but there was no need, they are secure and I never had one escape from it. |

I have one of those fauns and haven't had any problem with security I will be upgrading two of my hatchlings to fauns (Apollo is going into his 'big boy viv' so there will be one free anyway, gonna need a second though as Aphro and Titan are getting a little snug in their RUBs.
I decided to go from RUB to faun to lx36 to save money as a lx24 will need replacing before the snake reaches full length and it would get expensive if I went through lx24 to lx36 for all five snakes...
It isn't necessary to put a heat lamp and a heatmat in the viv. One or the other is perfectly adequate. I use heatmats for all my snakes |

I would always go as big as you possibly can afford (money/space wise) when it comes to buying vivariums. But Hatchlings and vivariums tend not to make a good combination, the doors have a gap where the 2 panes overlap, a small snake will squeeze through with very little trouble at all, you have to escape proof a vivarium so no gaps are more than about 1mm. I did have a tiny hatchling in a 2 foot vivarium and I had no problems with escape but it wasn't a vivexotic. Fauns or even RUBs (I use RUBs) make a great, cheap temporary lodging for titchy snakes, leaving your cash free to buy adult sized vivariums and fill it with pretty things. |
