All my snakes have a snakey table, real name is a trxie shelter. Now the legs on the table really annoy me when it comes to spot cleaning. If one of the legs is on a piece of paper that has been dirtied the whole table needs to come out for cleaning and to change the paper. So I am thinking of removing the legs and attching the wooden platform to the actual viv this will also free up floor space and make it easier for fitting a larger water bowl in or something else. I need some inspiraion as to how to do this. The snake will need to be placed back in the viv within 30 minutes or so really, so it has to be a quick fix. Any ideas? |

This is the table. http://www.surreypetsupplies.co.uk/trixie-shelter-for-guinea-pigs.html The legs just screw on so removing the legs is not a problem. |

According to the rules of Murphy's Law, as soon as you attach the tray in any sort of permanent way after removing the legs it WILL be pooped upon.
Better to leave it so that you can just lift it out for cleaning. I have a ledge on stilts for Big-T and he managed to poop down the back corner. So it was the tray, viv sides and floor that copped it. |

I hadn't thought of that. Ok scrap fixing it permanently it would cause me more hassle than it does now. Its a bit like cats, they know where to sit to cause the most inconvenience |

I've got the same problem - my table's got two solid side legs, I have to put newspaper under the aspen as Basil always goes under the aspen to poo - and guess where - yes, ALWAYS next to the table legs! I solved it by not changing the whole paper - that would mean taking out the table, hides, aspen etc. - I just take the poo out with surrounding aspen, and then tear out the wet bit of newspaper an just replace it with a small piece of newspaper or kitchen towel, clean aspen back on top - job done :-)
