Hi,
We want to use this moss next time Corny sheds baecause his last couple of sheds have come off in pieces & we want to try & help him to shed in one go.
Just a couple of questions I'd like to know answers to plz.
Could we just put the moss in his existing cold hide or do we need to put it in a tub?
We've bought some moss from P@H but we saw some in a garden centre that was for putting in hanging baskets. Could we use this moss or are we best off using the proper stuff from P@H?

| I use spagnum moss from garden centre, you get alot more for ya money. But seperate it into freezer bags an freeze it. Ideally you want a tub if you put it in hide what ever u use as substrate will get wet too. |

I put it under the hide, but take the substrate out from underneath it then that doesn't get wet too  Apollo doesn't like using a separate tub so I would have to remove all his other hides to force him into it which feels a little mean. So I make him sit on the damp instead by putting it under both his existing hides haha.
You can use sphagnum moss from a garden centre, or the more expensive stuff from P@H, I don't think it really matters much. |

Absolutely, moss from a rep store is a ridiculous price compared to the garden centre.
I just take a bag out of the freezer when needed and poor boiling water over it to bring it back to life then let it cool and squeeze excess water out of it.
I put mine in an old ice cream container with the lid on and just cut a whole in the side large enough for snakey to get through. All my moss hides go in the cool end as this is where they spend all their time when in blue. |

Wish I'd read this yesterday, just bought some (expensively) from P@H because Ruby didn't shed great last time. Is it ok to leave it until we open it or should I freeze it now? |

| I was looking for moss in home base gardens, they didn't have any. However they do sell a sisal moss substitute. Could this work. You could then sterilize and reuse it. My main concern is tha it has been dyed green and that could cause problems. |
