Was first feed day yesterday with Ruby and she took it straight away, after a few tongue flicks and then entered the warm hide for much of the night following the meal which I'm delighted with, but today have spotted her in the cool end and was just interested to know if this is ok and will she know to spend more time in the warm one to reach the right body temp?

Don't worry, they know exactly what their needs are far better than we do, perfectly normal

Yeah probably just too much worrying, I find it so hard not to as she's so small and delicate, plus it's not like I can tell her what to do even if I wanted to lol

If you're really worried try reversing the decor... put the 'cold hide' on the hot side

It may very well be that she feels a titch more secure in one over the other and so will seek that during her digestion.

It sounds normal to me. Apollo prefers to digest in the cold end, it just takes a little longer for the bump to disappear. He seems to know what he is doing. Snakes are very good at regulating their own temperatures if given the option to do so so I wouldn't worry

Well luckily since last posting she has been over in the warm end a fair bit and tbh I think it's more a case of her mainly sticking to the cool end in the day (sometimes 10 hours on the trot ) and then after it gets dark she feels comfortable moving around.

Plus even now morning time she's made her way to the warm hide which must be a good thing.

Although saying all this I'll take your advice Lupi and wait 3 days so handling tomorrow just to be sure.
