(I posted these pictures in my introduction thread after the thread had been up for a day or two. I think only about 4 people looked at it after the pics went up so I thought I'd make a proper thread dedicated to my old corn.)
This is my old corn. Her name was Regan, she was a Carolina Normal, born early 1998. She passed away in late 2008, a few weeks short of turning 11 years old.
I'd been told corns live 8-15 years so when she died aged 11 I assumed it was old age. I've since realised there was probably something wrong with her.
These pics are the only ones I have of her, taken with an old disposable when she was about 3 years old.
I got a digital camera just before she died. Had I known she was on the way out I would have taken as many pictures as I could, but didn't get the chance in the end.
She ended up a lot bigger than this. I had her in a 4ft x 2ft x 2ft viv in the end and she would stretch right along the front edge with her tail 2/3 the way along the side wall. She was a big girl - her final measurement was 5'6''!
I took her to nearby woodland, to a favourite place of mine where I always stop for lunch when out for a walk.
I still miss her
