I bought my now 1yr old Corn snake, Tango, 5 months ago (March), and things started out great! He ate very well, he'd just moved onto pinkies, was pooping well, he shed for the first time since I had him in early May, measuring 49cm but unfortunately things took a turn from there.

Tango's last meal was the 6th May, which is nearly 4 months ago. I was not worried at first about 1 or 2 skipped meals, as I had read many articles about how this can be a normal thing, but after 4 skipped meals I decided to ring up an expert, who told me it may be because of the breeding season and he told me the temperatures were all correct, and to ring again if the problem continues.

After 7 missed meals, I decided to take him in to the expert, who gave Tango a full inspection - his skin, eyes, mouth, throat etc, and he got a full bill of health, I was told not to worry and to carry on trying to feed once a week.

During the time that he wasn't eating, I weighed Tango to get an idea of how bad the problem was - he lost about 5g in 2 month. It was from here I did start to get very worried - he was very active and happy, but utterly uninterested in food even though I tried absolutely everything.

I recently went on holiday for 2 weeks, and during this time Tango stayed with the expert, who did seem concerned with Tango, as he was starting to look very skinny. Unfortunately nobody could get him to eat so we had to make a decision - to leave him, or to force feed. I decided to ask the expert to force feed him because I felt like it was my last option and the food went down fine, but sadly Tango has taken a big turn around :( He has barely moved in the last 4 days, and when he pooped I could see the mouse in the poo and I could still see all it's features, and it looked very undigested. I am too scared to weigh Tango or even pick him up as he looks so fragile and skinny :( Is there something wrong with his digestive system or could it be something else? I would do anything to save him :( I don't know what to do

Within the first weeks of having him

Sorry to hear he has taken a turn for the worse. I wish I had some advice for you other than seeing a reptile vet to check for parasites or something? Best of luck and keep us posted.

Your certain it was pooped out and not regurged?

If the mouse made it all the way through with out being digested then clearly there is a serious issue.

Wish I had a suggestion..

*fingers crossed*

It did smell worse than poop, and there was about 5-10cm of poop before the mouse hanging out at the end? He regurgitated a feed a few weeks after I first got him (April, and he did eat again after that) and it did not look the same as the thing I took out on Monday - whatever it was it was absolutely gross black poop like stuff with the back end of a mouse exposed at the end, looking completely untouched - features still easily made out. :(

I can only agree with Donnie and the possibility of internal parasites. Really needs to be seen and checked by a reptile vet. Good luck with him.
