Hi guys, I have a two year old male bearded dragon named bob. Lately ive begun to suspect he has a cold of problems in respiratory system and that he might have begun to have small problem in his mouth. Hes had mucus on the edged of his mouth and build up in his eyes. In his mouth there is what looks like a small blister.
Ive read online and the general census is for antibiotics from a vet. I totally agree but unfortunately here in Thailand the vets dont really know much about anything outside cats and dogs.
Is it possible to give my bearded dragon a broad spectrum antibiotic normall meant for people?
Thoughts please as I dont want things to get worse for the little guy.
To double check use a cotton bid down his/her throught if you feel comfortable.its surprising how far you can go without choking him, you will get a hardy yellow residue if so, is he still eating or not? If you do the cotton bud thing and get residue then go to the vets. They shall proberley give you antibiotics to inject in its back leg every day followed by force feeding by seringe aswell as a daily clearing of the throught via cotton bud. If you don't feel comfortable doing this then you shall have to leave it with them so they can do the complete course.
