Hi I have just moved my corn to a larger wooden viv with glass doors, do I need to put anything under the aspen or is the aspen on its own fine? I see that newspapers are not good as the ink can harm the snakes, any advice would be great thanks! What about kitchen roll or are there special liners that I need to buy? Any advise would be appreciated! Many thanks |

I put the aspen straight into my viv with no other lining and it works fine for me. |

Thanks to all the responses that is really useful to know! With regards a heat mat, I dont currently have one as have a large bulb but I will need one for winter. Do people just put there under the vivarium or inside? I am unsure how I would fit one inside through the wood floor and walls and glass doors, also not sure if heat will get through the booden base of the viv if I put it underneath, again all advise is great! What a great site this is, I love readding the posts. Regards Sharon |

since I converted an old hutch from a china cabinet, I put my heat mat under a sheet of plexi-glass so they were not on it once they dug through the substrate, it is easily cleaned and lifts them up. |

If its a wooden viv mat go inside on bottom with a dusting of substrate over the top. Viv might have a hole in it al really if not u will just need to drill a small hole somewhere for the cable to go though. |
