I have just gotten my 3 week old corn snake today. She's quite fast and has already bitten me (My fault, I smelt like guinea pig and she was frightened) I'm just interested in hearing how you guys feed your snake.
Because at the moment I have just put a pinkie inside for now. I know the best place to feed your snake is out of the viv. So tell me! How do you all do it? :) |

firstly like i said on your other thread leave little one a week then try offering a pinkie and i put my snakes in a seperate box then offer prey with tongs i then leave them in box until the prey is at least halfway down the body then gently i transfer them bax to their Rubs and leave for 2 days to digest  |

I heard that if you pick them up after they have eaten they can throw it back up tho? |

If you feed in a small plastic tub you can always just place this back in your viv and allow your snake to leave the tub itself.
If the tub wont fit in your viv then as the others have said wait until the food is half way down the snakes body, then gently lift the snake (remembering to support the area with the food 'lump') back into the viv. |

| I do the same as Lozzy too I pick Apollo up after eating to but him back in his faun, just very carefully supporting the lump and so far it has been okay. Some people leave the snakes for 5-10 minutes after the food has gone down but I don't bother, once it is down he goes back home. |

| Alright. I'm a bit nervous picking her up for the first time after she's settled in. Maybe because she bit me today it didn't hurt at all or anything but I just hope she will stop biting me as she gets older. I really don't wanna bring her back :x |

| Once she's used to u she will stop biting don't worry. Just make sure u give your hands a good clean to remove any smells before hand :-) |

| Kinda hard to remove smells. My kittens are all over the house at the moment and untill they have grown up my snake will be sharing a room with my guineapig (Bad idea, I know I know..) I don't think it will effect the snake that much? |

| I will be moving her to my room in a couple of weeks. My kittens will be sleeping in the hallway then but will occasionally come in and out of my room. Looking for some kind of shelf on the IKEA Site at the mo. This way my kittens can't get to her and she won't be disturbed by my other pets. SOLVED ;D |

My babies didn't feed for about 2 weeks after getting them home and they hadnt eaten for a few weeks before that so don't panic too much.
I use a spreadable butter plastic tub a few holes punched in the top. I defrost my pinkie for a couple of hours at room temp then when i'm ready to feed i put snakey in the tub, warm up the pinkie (mine come in little bags so i pop the bag in to a dish of boiling water for 30 seconds or so) then i take out the pinkie and use my tongs and pop it in the tub with the snake. My snakes aren't interseted if i hold the pinkie in the tongs so i drop it in and they eat it within 20 mins.
