Im sure this is a silly question but for those who have more than one corn snake can you take more than one out at the same time ? I mean will this cause aggression between the snakes ? If so would the scent of one snake set off another if you went from handeling one to the other ?
I'm getting another corn snake tomorrow and I just want to be sure what I should and shouldn't do when it comes to them interacting. They will be in separate vivs but I like to handle Flump most days and for the most part he seems to enjoy getting out for a stretch and so I'd like to do the same for my new addition.
Thanks |

I always handle mine one at a time, no specific reason I do this just like to give my full attention to whichever one I am handling. |

Very difficult to juggle two snakes, specially if one gets away from you because you dont have a spare hand free.
After the quarantine period there is should be no real risk of aggression etc, snakes are solitary but they are usually docile and just avoid each other, the real risk is cross contamination but if both are seemingly healthy then in theory there shouldn't be a problem but as with most things theoretical things can go wrong so its upto you to weigh up the pros and cons. |

Handling a male and female together could cause problems, especially if you have a randy male, speaking from experience So one at a time I would say. |

I have had all 3 of mine out at once , on one occasion. As snakes dont realy interact they seem to gain little from the experiance, overall its just easier and safer to handle one at a time. |

I have to say that wanting a nice photo of them together played a big part in wanting to do it and is what made me think about the possibility of having them both out at one time. Ah well i'll just have to look like a crazy lady with twice as many pics lol
Thanks again

From expereince, do not do it. This is how snakes can get lost as its had to keep track with our front facing eyes on where two snakes heads are and where they are going. |
A very special super, duper thanks for K :3 |
