Hi all
My Bloodred smells musky. I know corn snakes can musk if they're peed off - could it be that when he first came to me and being nervous he has musked on himself leaving the smell??
I am sure that come shedding time(which should be real soon) that his old shed will get rid of his smell?? |

Could be the smell will go with shedding. You could help him out by cleaning the viv after he's shed, making sure he's got plenty of water to have a soak in. You could give him a bath if you're worried about it.
Our kingsnake likes to musk on me, because she's not as used to me as she is my OH (she bite = she's his snake) but oddly enough I can't smell it. The OH tells me it smells really bad, so guess I'm lucky. She hasn't smelt like it all over before though. |

Give it a clean with damp kitchen roll if its really stinky. My Boa used to do this and it stunk had to wipe her down all the time but she grew out of it thankfully. |
