I'm just curious because I've discovered I'm not a single-snake owner, I want more lol But the set up's are very expensive for me because my 2 are in Monkfield Terraniums. So I'm thinking about RUB's - my question is how do you heat them? Won't the heat mat melt the bottom of the RUB?

And how do you heat them if you intend stacking them?

Just curious (at the moment)

Thank you

The heat a snake needs is less than human body temperature, so no it won't melt plastic :)

so as long as it's connected to a mat stat you're okay?

I have no idea what a heat cable is lol

If the rubs are side by side u can just get large heat strips which is basically just a wide heat mat.

I'm also getting one (maaaaaaybe two or three if I find the right ones!) more hatchlings.

I am planning on housing mine in RUBs and I have worked out that if I buy a heat mat which will be big enough for a 3 ft viv (I can put it into a 3ft viv when they are old enough then, to save on buying more) I can place three RUBs in the right place so each has 1/2-1/3 with heat mat under it. I will just put a temperature probe and stat probe into one of the RUBs and carefully size/pad the hole around the probes to minimise escapes.
