So my male lost quite a bit of weight during breeding season when he decided he didn't want to eat. He's back to feeding once a week now on a large mouse (occasionally two rat fluffs) but he isn't putting the weight back on.
He's had more than 10 feeds easily since and it seems that he is still losing weight. His spine is very visible and he hardly weighs anything at all.
Any one got any ideas, or should I make an appointment with the vet? |

If u think he's loosing weight I'd get him checked over, could have internal parisites |

this, after 10 feeds there should be a very visible increase in body weight. Ask the vet to do a fecal float test, the most common parasite for causing this is pin worm, and comes from the food. |

thanks for the advice, need to find a vet that will check snakes, not sure if my local one does.
are there any other signs I could look for myself in the mean time? Ive checked him over and he seems healthy otherwise. |

If hes eating fine as you say but losing weight something isn't right, he need checking by a vet as mike said need a fecal test done. May be worth asking any vet if that's something they can do. Or there are some company's that do it via post. |
