hi all, i have a woodburning stove and over the weekend i had my winter logs delivered. while moving them we came across some great shaped logs, some with hide holes and some that are just lovely looking. is there any SAFE way to process/clean them so i can put these in with Amelia ? they are all hardwood logs but i dont know what they are. thanks |

I simply give my logs branches a good old scrub with hot water if they look like they need it. I don't use bleach and other chemicals as I feel it is neccessary. I then let the wood dry well, usually in the green house. As long as you are 100% they are not cedar or pine. |

We pour boiling water over anything we get from outside and then leave wood to soak in the bath in a 10% bleach solution. We then rinse it several times and leave it to dry in our airing cupboard for a few days.
We do remove bark on certain pieces as well. Best to be safe :) |

As above, if they are small you can pop them in the oven, not sure on temp and time length though |
