Hi all Houdini is now about 8 months old now and was moved up to 2 fluffs a week about a month ago as he was always looking for more. All has been going well untill his feed last night, he was very skittish as i put him in the feeding tank (no bedding etc) Fluffy 1 went in and he kept nosing it but left it, i then tried another to see if i could tempt him but with no luck. He kept going round and round untill he done a nice runny poo in the corner. The unusual bit is this is his 4th poo this week according to the diary (he usually poo's about 3 days after a feed only once a week), he is in the early stages of blue but not ready yet.
Do i try him again this week with a fresh defrosted fluff or leave him till next week? As for the 4th poo im not sure as its never happened before...
Any advice will be appreciated
Thanks Sean |

One missed feed is nothing to worry about and common for them to not feed when in blue. As for the poop, corn snakes are crap-master 3000's; absolute machines for the generation of muck. Runny poo is not really a worry as it comes out runny just dries up quick on substrate so you dont realise just how sloppy things are until they either poop on you or in the feeding tub. If it continues to poo loads and loads then it might be worth taking a sample for parasite analysis but its probably just clearing itself out before going into hiding for the shedding process. |

I agree with lotabob about the poo - runny is nothing to worry about. I only notice that Kelloggs' poo is runny if I'm quick at spotting it just after he's done one. It took me by surprise the first time I felt it being runny and squidgy, but then I realised he'd been hiding in the corner where he does his business and had left me the parcel about 5 mins before I spotted it! lovely! |
