Hi Just a quick question I have seen a couple of people bathing their snakes in a bath - is this

  • necessary to do if so how often?
  • is there anything you need to be careful of - obviously not too deep
  • etc, etc.
  • any reason why NOT too

Really I'm just curious if its a good thing to do as teh care sheet doesn't mention it I believe

thanks

It is not absolutely necessary for their well being and will freak some snakes.

Instead of a bath, put a larger water dish, dog food bowl or Pyrex dish into the viv or spare RUB or tub. This give the snake the choice whether to take a dip or not.

Sometimes you might find it taking a dip in its water dish when it is coming up for a shed. It can also be a sign that it is affected by mites and trying to ease the irritation.
