Pine is toxic for snakes you need to get it out of there immediately and if snakey is already in there get him out now.

Really! He's out now just for safety. I think I must be mistaken tho they can't be pine
Il check with the shop I got the snake from, they sold me them instead of aspen because aspen is more likely to be ingested when feeding apparently?
Are there any other chipping they might be or is it likely that if they're clippings they'll be pine???

They could be beech chippings which is quite a commonly used substrate. I think you have done the right thing by taking him out if you are not sure what it is in there, better safe than sorry. Just call the shop up tomorrow to confirm but if they are any good then they would of not sold you pine chippings so will more than likely be beech.

Thanks Copey
Iv used 5 x 15mm led spots
Buy them in sets of ten with a transformer from somewhere that rhymes with rewfix (dunno if I'm allowed to say lol) for £20
So u can run two vivs from a set,
There's a false floor which the heat mat sits in and a false ceiling to house the spots
The idea was to have everything contained in the one unit
If I can get costs down on my end I'm going to make them to order
Already sold two thru friends commenting and wanting them so thought I'd build to order and see what happens
